NATIONAAL ARCHIEF en SPAARNESTAD PHOTO STELLEN DIGITALE BEELDEN BESCHIKBAAR AAN WIKIPEDIA
Op 13 september 2010 doneren het Nationaal Archief en Spaarnestad Photo een selectie foto's aan Wikimedia Nederland, bekend van Wikipedia. Wikipedia is de grootste online encyclopedie ter wereld, die bovendien helemaal door gebruikers wordt geschreven en onderhouden. In deze encyclopedie bestaat grote behoefte aan beeldmateriaal om lemma's te illustreren - fotomateriaal dat in veel gevallen niet (legaal) beschikbaar is.
Waar het gaat om Nederlandse politiek komt daar in ieder geval op 13 september verandering in. Tijdens dit evenement presenteert het Nationaal Archief ruim 1.000 foto's uit de ANEFO persfotocollectie. Deze collectie bevat portretfoto's van de meeste Nederlandse politici en foto's van vele beroemde en minder beroemde gebeurtenissen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de Nacht van Schmelzer, de formatieperikelen van 1977 en de eerste vrouwelijke minister Marga Klompé. Bij veel foto's zal een Wikipedia-lemma bestaan, voor andere zal het puzzelen, debatteren en graven zijn.
Programma
Tijdens dit evenement zal Lennart Booij een aantal vooraanstaande Nederlandse politici en oud-politici interviewen over hun persoonlijke herinneringen bij de foto's. Een interessante mix van jongere en meer ervaren politici, van verhaal en debat vormt daarvoor de prikkelende receptuur.

- 18:00 Opening door Martin Berendse (directeur Nationaal Archief) en Jeltje van Nieuwenhoven (voorzitter Directieraad Beelden voor de Toekomst)

- 18.30 Hans Aarsman presenteert zijn keuze
- 18.40 Forum Blik op Heden & Verleden: verhalen over naoorlogse politiek van bekende oudgedienden en nieuwkomers in de Tweede Kamer (met als gasten onder meer Jan Pronk, Frans Weisglas en Hannie van Leeuwen, Mark Harbers, Jasper van Dijk en John Leerdam)

Beelden voor de Toekomst
In het project Beelden voor de Toekomst redden vier instellingen, Beeld en Geluid, EYE Film Instituut, Kennisland en het Nationaal Archief, een belangrijk deel van het audiovisueel erfgoed van Nederland door conservering en digitalisering. Het gedigitaliseerde materiaal komt zo breed mogelijk beschikbaar voor onderwijs en het publiek. Het Nationaal Archief digitaliseert 1,2 miljoen foto's en zal deze via verschillende bronnen beschikbaar stellen aan het grote publiek, zoals via Wikipedia
